WP7 Tip: Viewing the iPhone/Android optimized Google Reader mobile site on your Windows Phone 7!
Alright, so maybe it’s not the “best” Google Reader App in the world – but it definitely does the job, and does it surprisingly well. Anyway, let me explain.
A quick search in the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace tells me there’s about 10-15 different Google Reader Apps. The first problem – is that the Marketplace doesn’t tell you which ones are free in the search results (ugh). So I ended up going through each and every one of them trying to find out which were free (either free free, or free-trial-but-essentially-free, free). After guessing and checking for a while, I decided to tried a few out – but quite honestly none of them were quite up to the same level as Reeder for the iPhone.
So – with a little bit of guessing and checking – I figured out how to get the iPhone/Android optimized Google Reader site working on your Windows Phone 7! Very easy:
1. On your WP7 browser, go to: http://www.google.com/reader/i
2. Log in, and enjoy a very snazzy looking Google Reader interface!
3. Lastly – and this is optional – if you hit the “…” menu at the bottom – there’s an option to bookmark the site, or pin the site to your start screen for even easier access!
Like I said – very easy, and definitely worth giving a try if you still haven’t found that perfect Google Reader Application.
